Seven has confirmed this Wednesday evening as the broadcast date for its exclusive interview with Essendon Football Club former conditioning head, Dean Robinson, as noise surrounding the drug scandal reaches fever pitch.
Seven’s special The Inside Man will be broadcast on July 31, just days before the AFL/Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) are due to release their initial findings.
The interview is the first time Robinson, former high performance manager for the club, has spoken since he was stood down from the Bombers in February.
The interview will be followed by a panel discussion led by sport commentator Bruce McAvaney.
The announcement comes just after the club’s chairman David Evans stood down and days after AFL chief Andrew Demetriou was accused of tipping off the Bombers about the ASADA investigation. Demetriou has since been cleared by the Australian Crime Commission.
