Sergei joins Aleksandr Orlov in new meerkat ad

The “simples” star of ads, Aleksandr Orlov, has returned to Australian TV screens with a third ad introducing his sidekick and head of IT, Sergei.

The latest instalment sees Sergei, who has nervous meltdowns due to Aussies confusion over comparethemeerkat and, attempt to install a new computer to solve the issue.

Aleksandr also reminds viewers that his site only compares meerkats and not health insurance.

A competition to win one of five velvet and silk Aleksandr inspired robes has also launched, called ‘Robe of Burgundy’.

In the five months since Aleksandr burst onto local screens his 72 Facebook posts have attracted 60,000 likes and more than 6,000 comments and shares.

The YouTube channel has almost one million views and the compare the meerkat website has had more than 450,000 unique views.

Aleksandr Orlov, founder of, said: “Thank yous to my Australians fans, I am please you have make enjoyment of my Facebooks page and television commercial breaks. I am so excite! Hopefully my new server will help Sergei cope with increased traffic of stupid mongoose looking for cheap health insurance.”
