Red button election issues mapped by Google

Health, wealth and education are the red-button issues for Australians according to Google,  dominating the issues most searched about in their annual state of the nation report.

With just two weeks left until Australia goes to the polls the results show which states are searching for which topics, with New South Wales residents looking up the NBN more than average, and Tasmanians twice as concerned about marriage equality as the rest of the country.

Google has today launched its new election portal collating the best content from across its channels, including YouTube and Google hangouts.

Mining hotbeds Western Australia and Queensland are the most money-minded, searching about the economy more frequently (tax, interest rates, employment) while Victoria and South Australia have been performing more health searches, with terms including NDIS and Medicare.

And while broadband issues might be vexing NSW and Tas, for the rest of the country it appears to be a lower than average search.
