The first episode of a new YouTube series called Plonk, supported by Destination NSW, has gone live today.
As reported by B&T in December, the duo behind Qantas’ Cannes Gold Lion-winning series The Great Crusade are behind the new series.
Nathan Earl and Glen Condie have this time turned their attention to wine.
Featuring The Chaser’s Chris Taylor as the celebrity host, Earl as the struggling producer and Josh Tyler as ‘the expert’, the series focuses on NSW’s wine region and follows a dysfunctional group’s attempt to create a show all about wine.
Earl said: “Glen and myself have been blown away by the wine industry’s level of excitement and support for Plonk. We’ve always seen the show as a comedic love letter to an industry which has given us plenty of great nights, long lunches and weekends to remember.”
Sandra Chipchase, CEO of Destination NSW, said: “This series showcases some of our state’s most stunning and inspiring countryside through the eyes of these great characters. They have light-heartedly put the spotlight on our regional wine and tourism experiences that are vital to our state’s visitor economy and at the same time made everyone who watches laugh.”
The series will roll out this week, with a new episode every day.
