Project Factory launches Intel-infused Offspring app

The Project Factory has launched a new app for Network Ten’s television drama series Offspring in collaboration with Intel.

The mobile app, Offspring: Moving In, extends the show to personal screens featuring exclusive video content, games, diary entries and photos.

The app has been built on The Project Factory's platform, Appisodic, which is used to create interactive entertainment for television series and movies.

Appisodic was used most recently for RTL 4 and Endemol in the Netherlands where it led to a 45% increase of audience share for a primetime entertainment TV show, GTST, as well as integrating commercial sponsors Samsung and South African Tourism, the company claims.

The project brings together Intel and Network Ten to form a commercial partnership which deeply integrates the Intel brand into the storylines within the app.

As part of the gaming concept, players can win weekly prizes of an Intel-powered Ultrabook by engaging in the games and unlocking hidden content

The Project Factory, group executive director, Guy Gadney said: "Offspring: Moving In tells the story of a new arrival into the TV show in a new and engaging transmedia way that is attractive to audiences and brand sponsors.

"Alongside Network Ten and Southern Star, Intel was a part of this project from day one, and this has allowed us to work with them to bring the Ultrabook story to life alongside our own narratives within the app."

The Project Factory believes ‘second screen’  engagement will be escalating over the next two years and the tools of the second-screen revolution, devices such as tablets, smartphones and Ultrabooks are tipped to be the driving force behind social TV experiences.
