EXCLUSIVE: Pacific Magazines has made its director of advertising sales redundant as the publisher restructures its sales team, an internal Pacific Magazines email sent to B&T reveals.
Nick Chan, chief executive of Pacific Magazines, informed staff this morning that Dymphna James (pictured) will leave the business today “as part of a restructure of the sales team”.
Pacific Magazines confirmed James’ departure and told B&T that the restructure has also resulted in the redundancy of group sales manager Kelly Purcell.
The changes come one year after Pacific Magazines re-organised its sales function from a brand focused one to a group focus.
Sales will now be lead by commercial director Peter Zavecz.
“I have asked Peter Zavecz to focus on leading the sales function for Pacific Magazines and to relinquish his publishing responsibilities on the homemaker titles,” Chan wrote.
“The publishing management of these magazines will be reviewed. In the interim, I will be responsible for the publishing of these titles.”
James first joined Pacific Magazines as lifestyle director in 2009 before taking on the director of advertising sales role.
"We are grateful for her service and dedication to the business over the last four years,” a Pacific Magazines spokesperson said.
