A short film telling 14-year-old Queenslander Pascal Dattler’s story has won a Tourism and Events Queensland competition.
Andrew Holmes, senior editor and motion graphics designer at Heckler in Sydney, and Byron Bay director Justin McMillan were behind the winning film for the One Day in Paradise competition devised by Sapient Nitro.
Shot entirely on a Go-Pro camera, as the competition rules dictated, the film is narrated by Pascal as he shares his love of the ocean.
Over 30 hours of footage was edited down to produce a two-minute film.
Holmes said: “The exciting thing about this job was the sheer volume of extraordinary footage. It gave us the freedom to explore different ways of telling the story.”
