OMD has promoted Helen Walker to lead Sydney operations of the agency’s brand and content arm Fuse.
She will take over the reins from Joanne Liddell who has led the Sydney Fuse team for the last three years.
Walker, formerly group communications director at Fuse, and with over 10 years’ experience working across agencies in the UK and Australia, will lead its team of brand and engagement specialists including OMD Word and OMD’s social media division.
Since joining OMD Sydney in 2011, Walker has been charged with leading the branded content and sponsorship campaigns for McDonald’s, including the popular ‘It’s a Knockout’ campaign.
Walker’s work for Nintendo at MEC London received numerous accolades including Gold in the Media Week Awards 2011, as well as wins at the Hollies Sponsorship Awards and Campaign Media Awards.
“Helen is an outstanding talent”, said Mark Jarrett, managing director of OMD Sydney. “The skills she has demonstrated in creating smarter, deeper and more meaningful consumer engagement across our clients business, whilst providing coaching and mentorship to our NGen staff base internally, have positioned her as one of the strongest Communications Executive’s in the industry.”
