New marketer for The Newspaper Works

The Newspaper Works has recruited outdoor advertising marketer Charlie Murdoch as its new marketing director.

The appointment comes after the recent departure of Lucia Elliott, which B&T recently revealed.

Murdoch (pictured) joins The Newspaper Works from oOh!media where he was marketing and content manager. Before that he was marketing director of EYE Australia and New Zealand and spent nine years with Austereo in various roles.

The Newspaper Works’ chief executive Mark Hollands said: “We’re obviously thrilled to welcome Charlie. He understands the media market and is a highly experienced brand professional. Charlie is the ideal person to lead The Newspaper Works’ marketing direction into its next phase following the successful launch of emma™.”

Murdoch added: “I’ve followed the launch of emma closely, so I’m excited to be taking up the marketing mantle at The Newspaper Works as we leverage the depth of emma’s insights and successfully position the industry into the future.”

Elliott told B&T of her plan to depart The Newspaper Work’s in October after six years handling the organisation’s marketing duties.
