My France with Manu debut pulls in 813,000 viewers

Nine was the Free-to-air network of choice in Australian homes last night with The Block claiming top spot as Seven’s AFL coverage saw MKR sidelined.

The Block: Fans v Faves pulled in 1.829 million viewers to Nine last night, according to OzTam’s preliminary  metro ratings.

As well as having the evening’s most watched program Nine had the largest share of all FTA viewers with 34.9% and 27.6% for its main channel.

Seven’s reality star My Kitchen Rules made way for the network’s Sunday night football broadcast in Melbourne and Adelaide, with a new lineup of Sunday night shows in the other three metro markets.

MKR host Manu Feildel pulled in 813,000 viewers for Seven with the first showing of his new two-part documentary, My France with Manu.

The documentary played in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth only and came sixth in the ratings overall.

It came second at 7.30 to Nine’s 60 Minutes which won 1.372 million viewers across the five metro cities.

Seven’s Sunday Night and Downton Abbey also played in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth only and pulled in 892,000 and 694,000 viewers respectively.

The AFL game broadcast won Seven 442,000 viewers with 425,000 football fans choosing to tune in to the network’s pre-match coverage. The game to be more popular in Melbourne than Adelaide with 341,000 Melbournites watching the game and 239,000 the pre-match broadcast.

Seven’s total share was 30.4% with 23.5% for its primary channel.

Ten’s overall share inched closer to the ABC but the commercial network was still in fourth place with 14.2% and 8.6% for its main channel.

The ABC sat on  total 15.4%.

Ten had three top 20 programs with Ten Eyewitness News making it to 11th with 504,000 viewers. Elementary pulled in 415,000 for Ten and sat in 18th place.

SBS won a total 5% with 3.9% for SBS ONE.
