MediaCom has promoted Toby Jenner to global chief business development officer, reporting in to worldwide chairman, Stephen Allan.
Jenner has spent the last five years leading the agency’s Australian operations and more recently driving MediaCom’s work throughout the region as COO MediaCom Asia Pacific.
He takes over the role from Fraser Riddell who will now head up MediaCom’s new global division, MediaCom Beyond Borders. Jenner will relocate to New York to take up the role mid year.
Allansaid: “Our commitment to fostering a culture that attracts and retains the very best talent has produced this great opportunity for Toby to apply his business-building skills to a larger, worldwide canvas“.
Jenner said: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work more broadly with the incredible talent that we have across our network and help support our global growth ambitions moving forward. I’m equally sad and incredibly proud to be leaving behind a team that is truly world class”.
Prior to his APAC role Toby was MediaCom Australasia CEO from 2008 joining from MEC in the UK where he was MD.
During his tenure MediaCom Australia won B&T Agency of the Year in 2011, became the number one ranked media agency by the Research Company Evaluating the Media Agency Industry (RECMA), and won multiple clients that included Yum!, IAG, Foxtel, Danone and EA.
MediaCom recently won the $150m Fonterra pitch against Carat and OMD.
Mark Pejic, MediaCom Australia CEO said: “Toby and I have worked together for a number of years now and we’ve enjoyed a successful partnership to date. I know I speak for all of us in Australia when I wish him all the very best. Toby is a smart and inspiring leader and we look forward to working with him in his new position.”
MediaCom said the agency had no plans to replace Jenner directly.
