OMD Tasmania business director, Matt Fishburn, has been elevated the dual role of Clemenger Tasmania’s managing director and media director of OMD Tasmania.
Fishburn (pictured centre) said he does not plan to continue the traditional agency model, instead “we’re embracing this an opportunity to present ourselves as an entirely new offering”.
“Ideas are an integral part of both disciplines and both of these disciplines must work together. As complexity accelerates in our landscape, we can bring specialised skill sets from our media and creative arms.”
As a result of Fishburn’s promotion current MD of Clemenger Tasmania, Tony Hart, will step down. The announcement said Hart will retain a key research function within the new agency.
The appointment marks a return to Clemenger for Fishburn who was with Clemenger for five years before joining OMD in January 2013 as founding business director.
Account director Libby Nielsen (pictured right) has been promoted to OMD Tasmania’s new account director.
Fishburn said he was looking forward to again working closely with Clemenger Tasmania’s creative director, Marcus Murphy (pictured right), to meld OMD’s offering with the agency’s creativity.
“We’ll now be known for inciting change within the state, and we’ll be starting out by implementing some big and exciting initiatives. Watch this space,” Fishburn said.
