Digital agency Holler has hired John Mclean to the position of head of production, with CEO Mike Hill telling B&T that everything has gone well since its merger with sister agency MassMedia in April.
Mclean (pictured) joins the agency with a reputation for "championing great digital craft and thinking", having previously worked at the likes of Clemenger BBDO, Droga5 and Leo Burnet.
The new recruit has experience in managing digital for brands such as Pepsi, Canon, Samsung, Diageo, Qantas, Hungry Jacks, Virgin Australia, Telstra and Carlton United Breweries.
Mike Hill said: "John’s hire comes at an important time in the agencies growth. His strategic, no-nonsense approach to digital communications is exactly what we have been looking for. We have our eyes firmly set on expansion nationally and globally and John is exactly the kind of person we need to help achieve this. He has commercial leadership, but also an appreciation for world class creative and technology”.
Hill said that he’s been delighted with how things have gone since the merger with MassMedia.
“I have to say it’s gone extremely well,” said Hill. “Culturally it’s melded just has we had planned."
Speaking about his new appointment, Mclean said: “I'm very excited about joining Holler and the vision management has to take the agency forward. Our digital core capability is rock solid, but the team also has the experience and know how to expand our offering into all channels, securing an integrated creative offering for our clients. The recent merger with MassMedia Studios has given us some serious fire power allowing us to further deliver innovative solutions for the great brands entrusted to our care.”
