Last MKR semi-final draws in more than 2 million

The last semi-final cook-off on My Kitchen Rules between the Adelaide mums and the Victorian twins had more than two million sets of eager eyes staying peeled for the results (the proud mums are through to the final by the way).

Seven Network's reality cooking show topped the most watched shows last night with 2.005 million viewers, helping to bring the network to an easy victory with a total combined share of 36.3%, according to OzTam preliminary ratings.

Other shows that pushed Seven to first place were the news, with both the 6pm and 6.30pm report harnessing over a million viewers each (1.23 million and 1.152 million respectively).

Home and Away also put in its two cents worth 1.036 million tuning in to see what the Summer Bay residents were up to, getting the soap into ninth position in the top 20 most watched shows yesterday.

Seven’s main station grabbed 28.2% of the network’s total share, with 7TWO seeing 4.2% and 7mate with 3.8%.

Nine plopped into second place with a total share of 26.4% with Nine News at 6pm being the second most watched show from yesterday, pulling in 1.232 million viewers.

Two episodes of The Big Bang theory also helped Nine step up to second place, with the new episode at 7.30pm grabbed 1.117 million viewers and the repeat episode straight after seeing 1.047 million.

Nine’s main station saw a total share of 19.9%, with its other stations, GO! and GEM grabbing a share of 4.1% and 2.4% respectively.

ABC came third in the total share race with 18.7% with its primary channel, ABC1, seeing 13.5%.

The ABC News was the network’s most watched show last night, pulling in 905,000, and was right behind Home and Away.

The 7.30 report and Australian Story at 8pm were next most watched on the network (776,000 and 765,000 viewers), with Media Watch grabbing 582,000 viewers and falling into 17th place.

Ten came in fourth position just behind ABC, with a total share of 14.1%.

Ten’s primary channel grabbed 8.8% of that share and Ten Eyewitness News coming in 16th place as 648,000 viewers tuned in.

SBS came fifth with a total share of 4.4%, 3.6% of that going to its main channel, SBS One.
