Kyle and Jackie O to take on Dubai

Australian Radio Network’s Kyle & Jackie O show will broadcast their Kiis 1065 breakfast show live from Dubai later this month as part of marketing deal with Dubai Tourism.

Ten Kiis 1065 listeners will accompany the breakfast team to Dubai for a taste of Emirati culture.

Julie King, director of Dubai Tourism Australia and New Zealand, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with KIIS 1065, and we look forward to guiding Kyle, Jackie, and their listeners through Dubai to showcase its diversity.

“Dubai encapsulates the best of both luxury, fun, adventure and affordability. It is the place to be for summer, and the KIIS 1065 show and the winners will discover some amazing experiences.”

The deal was announced on the same day as media reports suggested Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) new station has stopped taking ad bookings for May and has moved on to sell in advance.

ARN chief executive Ciaran Davis told The Australian that Kiis1065’s survey two ratings outcome has resulted in “an increase in market share”.

Promotional activity for ‘Kyle & Jackie O Take Dubai’ started today, with the overseas broadcast and listener experience to start on May 20th. Listener competitions often deliver stations a bump in listener share.

In the most recent survey Kiis 1065 won on overall Monday to Sunday share of all listeners 10+ of 9.6%. In breakfast it had a 10.9% share.

The trip to Dubai will see the radio jocks stay at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Madinat Jumeirah. They will take the 10 listeners who accompany them on a shopping spree and a fine-dining experience at the Burj Al Arab. The Dubai broadcast will conclude on May 23.
