Kitchen rules again as The Block loses Home and Away

Only one show last night managed to muster half the audience of Seven’s My Kitchen Rules, as the reality juggernaut once again grabbed more than two million viewers.

The Block All Stars showing at 7pm also failed to fire, getting 842,000 in the OzTam overnight metro ratings, eighth overall behind Home and Away on seven in the same time slot (950,000).

Nine’s showing of Australia’s defeat to the West Indies in the Twenty/20 International at 7.30pm could pull in an audience of just 953,000, compared to MKR’s 2.106m, with Nine News (1.092m) and Seven News (1.047m) sandwiched in between.

Ten’s best show was News at Five (629,000) with The Project its best performer in the 18-49 and 16-39 demographics, but well down on rivals.

Overall Seven won the night with 36.6% network share, Nine was second with 28.9%, ABC stole a march in third with 15,3%, Ten fourth on 14.5% and SBS fifth with 4.6%.
