Two senior Melbourne-based Magna Global staffers have been shifted to Initiative with Marcelle Gomez (pictured) to take on the national investment director role.

Magna Global’s Melbourne Investment director Tom Andrews has moved to the same role with Initiative Melbourne.

"January 29, 2014: IPG Mediabrands is making two senior people moves in its Melbourne-based businesses, the most senior of which is Marcelle Gomez who has been appointed national investment director for Initiative.

Gomez has most recently been general manager at the Melbourne office of IPG Mediabrands’ strategy and investment division Magna Global and in her new role she will be moving to Sydney.  She held her Magna Global position for more than a year and before that was a group director at UM.

Tom Andrews has been appointed investment director at Initiative Melbourne. He is formerly investment director for Magna Global Melbourne.

In November it was announced that highly-experienced trading-strategy and investment executive Ivo Kavelj is joining UM Melbourne as the agency’s managing partner, investment, leading investment across the agency’s large-volume client base. 

“These new positions for Marcelle, Tom and Ivo places our strongest talent directly onto our major client businesses,” said IPG Mediabrands chief investment officer Victor Corones. “All will continue working closely with the Magna Global team in planning and implementing future investment strategies.”

The Group’s major Melbourne-based clients include Coles, Bunnings, Officeworks, Target and Kmart."
