Seven’s House Rules ended on a high note last night with its back-to-back airing of the grand final and winner announcement taking 1.530m and 1.837m viewers respectively. Seven's House Rules and Nine's The Block have been on a tug of war with Nine winning Sunday night's ratings for reno shows.

The House Rules final was the most highly rated program of the evening – good news for the network which just announced a second season. The top spot combined with Today Tonight’s 1.120m viewers along with the 901,000 tuning in for the premiere of new drama Red Window saw Seven take 33.3% of audience share last night.

The popularity of House Rules is seeing Nine’s The Block Sky High trail further behind with 1.227m viewers taking fifth place on the rankings of Oztam’s preliminary ratings. The news took the network’s highest spot with 1.394m viewers and A Current Affair taking 1.147m, giving Nine 25.7% of audience share.

ABC’s ratings saw a jump in audience share with seven programs in the top 20. The news was the network’s highest rating session with 985,000 viewers while Four Corners, 7.30, Australian Story, Media Watch and Q&A all contributed to the channel’s 19.8% of viewers last night.

Ten had only two shows in the top 20 with the news and Masterchef taking 771,000 and 646,000 viewers respectively, but had a rise in audience share from around 12 to 14.8%.

SBS had 6.4% of audience share.
