Bringing to light the three year anniversary of the siutation in Syria, a new advert by Save the Children UK shows how a young English girl’s life is destroyed by war in one second a day; just because it isn't happening here, doesn't mean it's not happening.

Taking everyday tasks and eventually becoming more and more dire with bombs exploding and hair falling out, this new ad puts a heartbreaking twist on the effects of war.

The commercial from charity organisation, Save the Children in the UK, aims to remind people that the violence in Syria is still very real.

Starting off with the girl celebrating her birthday, family and friends all around, we’re taken on a journey chronicling a second of her life every day.

Eating icecream, playing with makeup and cuddling her toys are just a few of the things an average English child may do.

She learns the recorder, brushes her hair, but then suddenly has to hide.

Taking medicine, running from bombs, seeing her daddy being taken, all snapshots of the terrifying effects of war.

Check it out below and see for yourself how heartbreaking and confronting it is.
