Guy Sebastian has recorded a limited edition cover of The Police’s Message in a Bottle to boost Mount Franklin’s ‘Message’ campaign.
The campaign is an extension of Mount Franklin’s pink lids campaign, to raise funds for McGrath breast care nurses across Australia.
Sebastian (pictured) has added reggae beats and a string instrumental, updating the 1979 number one hit for the 2012 summer.
Sebastian said: “I’m a huge fan of the original Message in a Bottle track and have relished the chance to put my own spin on this classic, whilst raising money for a good cause.”
Anne Joly, senior brand manager for Mount Franklin, said: “The ‘Message’ campaign has resonated with the Australian public since it launched in September. We’re thrilled that we’re about to take the activity to a new level with Guy Sebastian.”
And Kylea Tink, CEO of the McGrath Foundation, added: “Working with corporate friends like Mount Franklin enables us to not only place much needed McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia, but also helps us spread the word about breast awareness to young women.”
The track is on sale until March 2013, with part of the proceeds going straight to the McGrath Foundation.
