The Australian Grand Prix Corporation has appointed Monica Kent-Giles as its new general manager of marketing and communications.
Kent-Giles was most recently with News Limited’s Herald and Weekly Times, with APN News & Media, and the Melbourne Convention & Visitors Bureau also on her resume.
She will be leading the company’s portfolio with the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix and Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix both major upcoming projects.
“We are so privileged to host the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix and Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix in Victoria," Kent-Giles commented.
"I look forward to working closely with all those associated with these two world-class events.”
Australian Grand Prix Corporation’s CEO, Andrew Westacott, said Kent-Giles appointment comes at a time when Formula One and MotoGP are experiencing the highest-ever interest. The 2013 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix was the largest event since 2005.
