Gatecrashers help My Kitchen Rules steam the competition

The first instant restaurant featuring the My Kitchen Rules gate crashers had 1.978 million Australians glued to their couches on Tuesday night.

The result saw Seven continue to dominate the 7.30 pm slot with The Block: All Stars in fifth place overall with 1.095 million viewers and MasterChef: The Professionals outside of the top 20.

MKR lead the 16-39 and 18-49 demo with The Block in third place in both age groups behind Packed to the Rafters which was the second most watched show overall with an audience of 1.341 million.

Ten’s MasterChef was pushed to 19th place in both the 16-39 and 18-49 brackets with 127,000 and 201,000 respectively.

Nine’s The Big Bang Theory was popular overall with 1.012 million viewers as the sitcom claimed fourth and fifth place amongst 16-39s and 18-49s.

Nine won the battle for news viewers with an audience of 1.215 million ahead of Seven News’ 1.145 million and Ten News at Five’s 673,000.

Seven dominated Tuesday night overall with a 30.4% share of all free-to-air viewers.

Nine took 19.2% while Ten claimed 11.7%. The ABC won 12.7% and SBS had a 4% share.
