Game of Thrones pulls in over 1 million downloads

Game of Thrones’ season 4 opening episode premiered on Foxtel last night, scoring HBO its biggest audience to date, according to The Age.

While the episode last night pulled in 158,000 viewers on Foxtel, according to OzTam preliminary ratings, The Age reported over one million downloads of the show from BitTorrent in half a day.

TorrentFreak reported that the amount of downloads from the show was roughly the same as last year, with last year’s results securing Game of Thrones as the most pirated TV show for the second time.

Of the 18,333 IP-addresses collected, Australia takes the lead with 11.6% of the total.

The US is in second place with 9.3% and the UK following behind with 5.8%.
