Fashion savvy women who find the latest trends and beauty extremely important are turning to Facebook for inspiration, according to a new US study.
The Netbase report found Facebook dominated the inspiration stakes compared to other social networks.
More than half (56%) of women who said fashion and beauty were extremely important are inspired by Facebook.
That figure leaps to 72% for women who agreed with the statement: “The brands and products my friends use influence my own purchase decisions.”
But for serious fashionistas its the blogs and message boards that carry the real weight with 64% referring to those channels for inspiration.
Twitter was not found to be a top-five influencer in the study which surveyed 1,005 women.
Instagram and Pinterest have more of an influence than Twitter, approximately 50% and 42% respectively.
