Digital paid sales reporting remains voluntary

Reporting of digital sales is to remain voluntary according to a unanimous decision by the members of the ABC Executive Committee.

While digital reporting remains voluntary, once a publication does report on its digital sales, it is locked in to continue to do so, warned ABC CEO Paul Dovas.

A publisher must also report all the possible breakdowns of digital sales once they start reporting net paid digital sales. This includes digital enhanced version sales, digital replica version sales and paid website version sales.

This requirement will be first applied to the ABC Reporting Period ending 30 September 2013.
