Dafydd Williams returns to Ten

Network Ten has rehired its former head of factual programming, Dafydd Williams, to fill the newly created head of development role.

Williams, who first worked at Ten from 2006 until early 2012, will report to chief programming officer Beverley McGarvey when he returns to the network on January 31.

Williams first joined Ten in 2006 as network executive producer and was responsible for The Biggest Loser Australia, MasterChef Australia, Bondi Rescue, Bondi Vet, Recruits and The Living Room.

McGarvey said: “Dafydd is one of the best-connected and most experienced producers in the Australian television industry. His appointment is part of the strategy to build our management talent across all departments of Network Ten.

“We are very excited to be welcoming Dafydd back to Ten. The development of new shows is, of course, a key area for us and Dafydd’s skills and experience will be a great addition to our local programming and production team.”

Williams other credits from the local production sector include Big Brother and Ready Steady Cook for Ten as well as Hot Property and Better Homes and Gardens for Seven.

Before Ten he worked as executive producer at Southern Star Entertainment and Beyond Productions. He has also worked in the UK broadcasting industry for 12 years.
