Cricket wins the ratings for Nine

The cricket stole the TV ratings wicket last night with the one day match between Australia and England pulling in 1.635 million viewers.

Session one of the match brought in 1.246 million viewers to Nine, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

The cricket helped Nine to a huge total 41.7% share of all free-to-air viewers on Sunday night putting it strides ahead of rival Seven which won a total combined 22.8%.

Nine’s main channel took 34.4% compared to Seven’s primary channel share of 16.3%.

Ten had four top 20 programs with Modern Family, The Graham Norton Show and Ten Eyewitness News. The commercial network came fourth in the ratings to sit behind the ABC, Seven and Nine.

Ten took a total combined 12.8% share of all FTA viewers with 8.5% for its primary channel.

The ABC won a total 17.2% with 13.3% for ABC1.

SBS took a total 5.4% with 4.5% going to SBS One.
