Dentsu Aegis’s full service digital, creative and media agency Huckleberry has named Carmela Soares as its new creative director.
Soares joins the young agency from HotHouse. She has more than 17 years experience in the industry and has worked locally as well as in South America and Europe with a number of well-known agencies including Ogivly, DDB,JWT and Havas.
Melissa Roberts, Huckleberry’s managing director, said: “Carmela has a great reputation, an enviable folio of work and extensive experience in full service agencies. We will benefit from her creative direction but also from her understanding of the full service model and how we can bring that to life for the benefit of our clients here at Huckleberry.”
Soares will be based in Melbourne with the agency which was launched locally late last year by merging staff from its former Havas Media outfit with creative digital agency Rodeo.
Soares added: "The advertising industry is becoming increasingly fragmented, with multiple agencies working with the same client. What's exciting about Huckleberry is seeing one team working together in concert with media, a focussed and efficient approach that's less stressful for clients. It just makes sense."
