The Block Sky High towered above the competition last night as the only non-news show to break the million barrier (1.073m) on a typically depressed Thursday night’s TV viewing.
Nine’s secondary reality asset continued the channel’s good run, propelling it to yet another nightly win with a 23.2% share according to the OzTam preliminary ratings, with the 6pm news taking top spot.
Rivals Seven’s secured 22.2% with soapy Home and Away (899,000) pipping comedy Mrs Brown’s Boys and House Rules (both 898,000) creeping into the top ten.
ABC1’s consumer expose show The Checkout scored 819,000 viewers, more than fan’s favourite The Footy Show (794,000), while struggling Ten’s best bet was News at Five (675,000) and Law & Order: SVU, which got 648,000 viewers.
However, Ten did edge out ABC1 with a 12.8% share versus 12.3%.
