Beatles inspire Guide Dogs campaign

Guide Dogs NSW/ACT has taken inspiration from the Beatles for its new campaign, ‘Watch out, cane about’.

The artwork, created by Lisa O’Sullivan from Guide Dogs, features four people making their way across a pedestrian crossing with white sticks.

The poster is supported by PR, TV and radio community service announcements, and an educational video, produced by Louder Than Words, highlighting tips for motorists, featuring Sunrise’s Mark Beretta.

The campaign was initiated after Guide Dogs NSW/ACT conducted a study that found that one in two of its clients who is blind or visually-impaired has had a near miss with a vehicle over the past five years while trying to cross the road. The study also found that one in 15 had been struck by a vehicle.
