Creative ad agency BCM is currently heading up the Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry's (ACCI) federal election campaign after winning its business earlier this year.
The Brisbane-based agency won a pitch, which included GPY&R, to assist the ACCI in making the voices of small businesses across Australia be heard in the run-up to September’s election.
The Small Business – Too Big To Ignore campaign is running nationally to fight for the interests of small business operators.
BCM was tasked by the governing body for Australian business associations with building a multi-platform campaign which represents the needs of small to medium sized businesses.
The agency confirmed to B&T that the first stage of this process is complete, with a campaign website in operation.
"Our business with the ACCI is primarily a social/digital program,” said Paul Cornwell, managing partner at BCM.
“The website encourages small/medium sized enterprises to get on and have a discussion about the issues and what politicians should have in mind ahead of the election. Our first objective was to create a central platform for people to voice their opinion. The reaction has been amazing,” he added.
Last September, when the pitch was launched, ACCI Queensland CEO Stephen Tait said that the "key success factor in the pitch process will be how an agency demonstrates its understanding, empathy, and appreciation of SMEs across Australia and brings a campaign to life across all available channels.”
Cornwell confirmed the website – plus the national press and TV ads it's currently running – is just the first phase of its work for the ACCI, with more above the line and digital work set to be announced soon.
In Febuary, Major Queensland retail centre, Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, appointed BCM to its account.
