Aussie consumer insights firm goes Stateside

Australian and UK digital consumer insights company Watch Me Think has appointed a new ‘thinker’ and opened up shop in the United States.

Watch Me Think, which provides its clients with videos filmed by ordinary people using their products, has appointed Kevin Gould (pictured) as president of the US operation.

Gould, who joins from a product development management and marketing role at ARM software, said: “I am delighted to join Watch Me Think. Given the exceptional success achieved in just one year in both Europe and Asia, the opportunity in the Americas is huge.”

Prior to ARM, Gould worked for BNP Paribas, KPMG and IBM.

Alistair Vince, ‘chief tinkerer’ at Watch Me Think, said: “Kevin has proven success working in global roles with some of the world’s largest and most-respected organisations and we are delighted he has agreed to lead our US operation out of New York.”

Watch Me Think was launched 18 months ago in Australia and the UK. The company has worked with clients including Nestle, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Kraft, Kellogg’s, Sara Lee, Colgate, Mars, GSK and Schweppes.

Members of the public are paid to use Watch Me Think’s client’s products, in their home setting, and upload videos of their experiences.

John Hoctor, ‘chief thinker’ in Australia, added: “Our ability to provide clients with simpler, faster and more authentic consumer connections and an incredibly powerful story-telling tool, has meant that in less than 18 months we have been fortunate to call many of the world’s leading consumer goods companies our clients.

“We are really excited about Kevin joining our team to take our offering to the world’s largest consumer market – the USA.”
