Outdoor advertising has gone mobile in Darwin following yesterday’s win of the NT’s major bus contract by Go Transit Media Group.
Go Transit, a privately-owned bus advertising business, has won a contract that covers almost 150 urban and school bus routes throughout Darwin.
Paula Hay, head of national sales at Go Transit, said: “There is no real form of large transit outdoor advertising available in Darwin so we can provide the opportunity to promote businesses and services in the form of a large mobile billboard on a daily basis throughout Darwin.”
Peter Styles, minister for transport on the NT Government, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Territory businesses to access a mobile and very visible advertising medium that has not been available previously.”
He said the same form of advertising could be rolled out in Alice Springs if it is successful in Darwin.
Go Transit’s contract in Darwin starts on March 1, with advertising to appear on buses by mid-April.
