ABC voted most attractive employer

The ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) won top place as the most attractive employer at the Randstad Awards held in Sydney last night.

Virgin Australia came in second and The Department of Immigration and Border Protection took home third.

The awards recognise the organisations that Aussies see as the most attractive employers in the country, according to over 9,500 potential jobseekers.

“Winning the Randstad Award is a mammoth achievement and one which cements the ABC’s position among Australia’s very best employer,” Steve Shepherd, group director of recruitment and HR specialists at Randstad, said.

“The work they are doing to invest in employing, retaining and developing strong talent within the ABC; nurturing a strong culture and being dedicated to producing quality content through all ABC mediums is clearly having a positive impact in the market and contributing to their win in the Randstad Award for two years running.”

The national broadcaster was popular among both men and women and was most attractive for workers above 30 years of age.

“The business landscape and the Australian workforce are only becoming more competitive. Top talent is increasingly difficult to find and secure,” Shepherd adds.

“If high performers are not nurtured, not made to feel valued, they will leave the organisation. Aussies won’t stick around if there is a more attractive option available to them, where they will be recognised and rewarded for their valuable contribution to the business.”
