Argentinian football team Estudiantes has unveiled its newly refurbished stadium in Buenos Aires with the help of a gigantic holographic lion leaping across the grandstand’s rooftop.
So, how actually did organisers manage to pull off such a spectacular stunt? The impressive spectacle could be viewed by fans watching at home on TV, but spectators in the stadium had to watch through an app on their phones or via the ground’s big screen.
The revamped Jorge Luis Hirshi Stadium had been closed since 2005 needing urgent repairs, forcing Estudiantes – who play in the Argentine premier league – to play home games elsewhere.
The eye-catching opening ceremony – which also included a friendly match between Estudiantes club legends — marked the official reopening of the ground.
