Telstra launches NRL iPad app for tonight's State of Origin

Telstra has launched its iPad app today in time for tonight's NRL State of Origin II. 

The iPad app has been optimised from the iPhone app to include the same features of wifi and network capability, unmetered data for Telstra customers, and full access to live scores and stats.

Fans who download the app will be able to replay scoring while watching the live game with goals will quickly appearing in a highlights reel.

“The ability for iPad users to replay tries and goals during live coverage is a great tool we’re sure Rugby League fans will enjoy," says Telstra’s media executive director, Mark Buckman.

“We don’t just want people to be able to watch the game on their phone or tablet … It’s about making it an all-encompassing experience," says Buckerman

The app is based on a free model with a premium upgrade to be able to live stream content such as the Holden State of Origin series, the Telstra NRL Premiership, and post match press conferences. The subscriptions are based on weekly ($5.49), monthly ($14.99) or annual pass plans ($89.99).
