Switched On Media to set up shop in NZ

EXCLUSIVE: Sydney-based Switched On Media is set to open an office in Auckland New Zealand on the back of new client work for Canon and Nestle.

Andy Jamieson, joint chief executive of the search, social and digital marketing agency, told B&T it was pleasing to win work across the ditch.

“Both Canon and Nestle have been happy with our work in Australia and for them to refer us into the New Zealand teams is really gratifying,” Jamieson said.

“We like to spend face time with our clients and intend to spend more time on the ground in New Zealand in 2013.”

Switched On is currently recruiting staff to fill the new office which does not yet have an opening date.

Nestle appointed Switched On to handle social media work, with a focus on YouTube and Facebook, for its newly acquired s26 toddler brand in January this year.

The agency has worked with Canon New Zealand for 18 months but Switched On’s responsibilities have been recently expanded to include social media.

Switched On will now manage Canon’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for all of the brand’s products as well as supporting the EOS campaign and helping with local consumer promotions.

Switched On Media was launched in 2007 by Jamieson and his joint CEO, Scot Ennis (both pictured), in 2007.

In September last year marketing and communications group STW bought a majority stake in the agency.
