Facebook has revealed that it’s in talks with Apple about developing a version of its new Home software for the iPhone.
Earlier this month Facebook launched its own Android platform called “Facebook Home” that integrates the social network on the home screens of smartphones.
Now, according to a Bloomberg interview with Facebook's director of products, Adam Mosseri, the tech giant is in preliminary talks with both Apple and Microsoft about its new mobile software.
"We’ve shown them what we’ve built and we’re just in an ongoing conversation," Mosseri told Bloomberg.
When contacted by B&T about the latest development, Facebook were not able to comment at this time.
When installed, Home shows the Facebook updates from your friends on the home screen. It also allows users to update their Facebook status directly from the home screen.
HTC will be the first smartphone maker to feature Facebook Home, while some Android users will also be able to download the suite of apps onto premium HTC and Samsung smartphones.
