Holler Sydney recruits former Clemenger creative James Theophane

Digital creative agency Holler Sydney has recruited former Clemenger BBDO Sydney staffer, James Theophane, as creative director.

Theophane (pictured) replaces Richard Morgan who was with Holler from April 2011 until July last year when he moved to DDB Sydney.

Mike Hill, chief executive of IPMG-owned Holler, said: “Theo’s talent and innovative approach fits in perfectly with Holler’s ethos. His hire strengthens our plans to continue bringing digitally centric creative ideas to all of our clients.”.

In September, Theophane and four other members were made redundant at Clemenger Sydney. At Clemenger agency Theophane was digital creative director.

Theophane said he was “stoked” to be joining Holler.

“Our ambition perfectly aligned, it didn't take us long to connect ; we both get a huge kick out of introducing ideas to technology and watching them make out under the mistletoe," Theophane said.

"And when you’re doing this for impressive clients such as Audi, Heineken, Reckitt Benckiser and Disney, you know great things can happen.”

Theophane has a stint with R/GA under his belt, where he worked with Nokia, Nike, Pepsi, D&AD and Jaguar.

While at Clemenger, Theophane developed the award-winning spoken-word trending machine ‘Mimeisthai’ which debuted at TEDx Sydney.
