Auckland’s Queen Street has taken a cue from New York’s Times Square with its first roadside digital billboard thanks to APN Outdoor.
APN Outdoor invited Auckland Mayor Len Brown to do the honours of lighting up the street with the city’s first ever large format, high resolution digital billboard.
The five brands to have their ads go live on the 27sqm LED screen were New Zealand Lotteries, BMW, Freeview, Holden and Coca-Cola.
Phil Clemas, APN Outdoor’s New Zealand general manager said it was a significant milestone for the company.
“Outdoor is the world’s oldest form of advertising, but it continues to keep reinventing itself to adapt to the changing needs of advertisers,” Clemas said.
“Our launch of New Zealand’s first permanent digital billboard keeps us right at the fore of the technological developments in our industry and delivers our clients a competitive edge for their campaigns.”
