Technology agency The Gruden Group has appointed John Butterworth, the former CEO of The Digital Industry Association of Australia (AIMIA), to lead its digital services business.
Butterworth joins the ASX-listed group with extensive experience in the digital technology, media, and telecommunications, having most recently been the founder and partner of digital strategy consulting firm Orchestrate Strategy.
Prior to that, he held a number of key roles at OzeMail (formerly a major internet service provider that is now owned by iiNet) between 1996 and 1999, which culminated in him becoming the company’s general manager of media and content.
Gruden has also appointed Gavin Gorazdowski as its general manager of its mobile marketing business, MobileDEN.
Gorazdowski has been with Gruden since May this year, and was previously the managing director of digital agency Newgency, having co-founded it in 2000. Newgency later merged with Moon Design to form Moon Communications Group in 2007, with Gorazdowski serving as managing director of digital at Moon Communications Group thereafter.
He has also co-founded a number of other digital technology businesses, including Custom CMS and Listra.
Gruden CEO Tim Parker, who was recruited by the group back in June, said the appointments of Butterworth and Gorazdowski are “a tremendous validation of the company”.
“These hires substantially enhance the managerial and technical capabilities of Gruden and position the company well for its next phase of growth,” he said.
