Game Developer Leaks Name Of Apple’s New iPhone

It seems that once the leaks around the new iPhone began, Apple has struggled to turn off the tap, with an app and game developer the latest to spoil a secret about the highly-anticipated gadget.

Clever cookie Steven Troughton-Smith somehow came across a leak of Apple’s new mobile operating system, and with a thorough search, discovered the names of the three new iPhones, before revealing them on Twitter over the weekend.

This leak follows reports on a number of tech websites that Apple will launch three different versions of the iPhone, including updated versions of the two iPhone 7 models and a “signature” larger (and apparently rather expensive) version to celebrate the iPhone’s 10th birthday – which B&T assumes is the iPhone X.

US business site Bloomberg Technology reported the new model will come with new gesture controls to replace the home button, a taller screen with rounded corners, facial recognition technology and a brand new screen and camera.

Bloomberg has even gone so far to reproduce the illustration below with its predictions for the new handset.

The new iPhones will be revealed to the world on Tuesday 12 September, although they’re not expected in Aussie Apple Stores until later in the month.
