Aussie app development company Buzinga has announced the appointment of a user engagement director as well as unveiling its new-look Melbourne office.

Joseph Russell joins Buzinga as director of user engagement after co-founding successful mobile start-up DreamWalk in 2009, where he developed innovative mobile solutions for high profile clients such as as Coca-Cola, M&C Saatchi, the State Library of Victoria, BP, and Melbourne University.

Russell’s appointment follows the recent hires of Richard Harding and Karl Graf as director of mobile strategy and director of client success respectively.

To address its growing team and align with its mission to be Australia’s best workplace by 2017, Buzinga has also completely redesigned and doubled its office space by 160 square metres, which now includes collaboration spaces, areas for social events, break-out areas, a coffee machine, and table tennis table.

Graham McCorkill, co-founder and director of Buzinga, said the business’ expansion was an appropriate response to changing market needs and trends.

“We’ve seen increased interest from businesses wanting to not only implement a mobile solution, but also improve and generate more engagement with their users, and in order to offer this service to our customers, we needed to ensure we had the best talent on deck to deliver these creative solutions,” he said.

“Having a strong company culture that employees can relate to and embrace is key, and we place enormous value on ensuring this is addressed by offering innovative workspaces, regular training and support, various social events and initiatives, and an employee engagement program that address each individual’s career aspirations and professional interests.”
