Adidas Issues Smackdown On Homophobic Instagram Commentators

Active-wear company Adidas celebrated Valentine’s Day with an Instagram post of a same-sex female couple, who are wearing matching Adidas shoes, sharing a post-workout kiss with the caption “The love you take is equal to the love you make”.

The same-sex support from Adidas comes after the sports company announced a new clause in its ambassador contracts stating that if a sportsmen or sportswomen reveals publicly they are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender, their Adidas contract will not be changed or terminated.

This clause reads: “Adidas acknowledges and adheres to the principles of diversity, as this is a central part of the Adidas group philosophy. Therefore Adidas warrants that this agreement will neither be terminated nor modified in case the athlete comes out to the public as a member of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community.”

The Valentine’s Day post has racked up over 194,000 likes and over 100,000 comments.

The love you take is equal to the love you make.
