Beer Brand Brilliantly Skewers Its Hipster & Millennial Drinkers In Hilarious Spot

One of the first rules of advertising is arguably don’t mercilessly rip the shit out of your audience.

However, that rule appears to have gone out the window in a witty and savage new ad in the UK promoting the arrival of famed US beer brand Bud Light to the country.

The clever, clever work is by creative agency Wieden+Kennedy London and basically is one long piss-take of the hipster imagery and cliches so often peddled out by advertising agencies.

Featuring horse-riding hipsters in kimonos at a beach (presumably not in the UK) the ad is accompanied by a biting soundtrack that sings about its “super-cool girl with aspirational friends, lifestyle ad with Bud Light at the end.” But don’t take our word for it, check the spot out below:

Commenting on the ad, Wieden + Kennedy London’s ECD,  Ray Shaughnessy, said: “The ad aims to give Bud Light a distinctive voice in the UK beer world. We’ve tried to make it clear that this is a co-ed beer brand having a laugh because – wait for it – turns out both men and women enjoy beer as well as a chuckle.”
