EXCLUSIVE: Judges on the Media Lions category are set to protest to Cannes officials about block voting allegations, while Ikon chief and Media juror Dan Johns told B&T “the best work didn’t win gold’.
Johns together with other fellow judges are planning on raising concerns over how voting was managed in a showdown with Cannes chairman Terry Savage.
B&T understands that judges of certain global holding groups were “ordered” to support work from their respective groups.
Johns told B&T: “Unfortunately after six days of judging the best work didn't win gold, that is a view held by a number of the jury members. In these situations you have two choices; either to sit back and do nothing or raise your hand and say enough is enough."
The Ikon boss yesterday slammed the judging process claiming that many entries which should have made the shortlist didn’t because judges did not have enough time to properly look at them.
