B&T and Fox Searchlight Films have 30 double passes to give away for special sneak preview screenings of Thank You For Smoking in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart on August 18—20.
The first 30 people from each city to email their full postal address to Aus.TYFS@fox.com will receive a double pass.
Thank You For Smoking, which was a hit at the Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane Film Festivals, is all about “spin”.
It’s based on the top-selling book by Christopher Buckley, and stars Aaron Eckhart as the face of "Big Tobacco" with a stellar cast including William H. Macy, Rob Lowe, Maria Bello and Robert Duvall.
Whether it's cash for comment, children overboard, or the government investing in tobacco companies, there is a spin doctor around every corner to smooth things over.
And this biting satire, from writer-director Jason Reitman, has been hitting all the right chords in the US, where Newsweek called it “a hilarious and gloriously politically incorrect send-up of Washington's culture of shameless spin”.
The Sydney Film Festival described it as a: “Sharply written… wicked satire on the immorality of 21st century corporate life...”
