DVD: new focus for Warner
Charmienne Stacey

WARNER Home Video, the largest video distributor in the world, has appointed a new marketing team in a bid to capture massive growth in the Australian DVD market.

"DVD is the most successful format in the history of consumer electronics. Over 400,000 Australian households will have a DVD player by the end of this year, and over one million households will own one by the end of 2001," Warner Home Video marketing director John Schad said.

To capitalise on this growth, a new marketing team has been established. Schad will head up the team, having moved to Australia from the United States a few months ago to help Warner capture the local DVD revolution.

Other appointments to the team are product managers Craig Chester (DVD and Internet), Maria Bruzzano (family entertainment and TV), Scott Taylor (rental), Shane Lithgow (VHS sell-through) and marketing co-ordinator Melissa Dominguez.
