Three Drunk Monkeys hires director of digital from The Population

Three Drunk Monkeys has hired digital strategist Ben Cooper from digital communications agency The Population to become its new director of digital.

Cooper will take the digital lead at Three Drunk Monkeys working across all clients. Mark Ashley-Wilson previously headed digital at the agency, though last month he joined The Furnace as its head of digital. Prior to The Population Cooper worked at Host as a digital strategist.

Three Drunk Monkeys co-founder Mark Green said Cooper will not be a like for like replacement for Ashley-Wilson, with the former’s expertise in strategy and the latter’s online production.

“Ben will work alongside Scott, Justin and myself and will be a key part of the management team,” he said. Three Drunk Monkey clients include Foxtel and Ubank.

Cooper will start at his new agency later this month.

Population managing director Tony Thomas said: “We thank Ben for his contribution in his year with us, and wish him the best in his new role. There will be no disruption to any of our clients or projects, because of the way we are structured, and we will hire accordingly going forward.”
