REED Business Information, IDG Communications and POL Corporate Publications have scooped the Australian Business Publishers (ABP) Bell Awards, taking away the majority of the awards and high commendations.
The annual awards, recognising the B2B, specialist and custom publishing industry, attracted a total of 260 entries, an increase of 35% on last year's figures and saw a significant increase in the number of electronic publishing submissions.
Reed Business Information claimed five major industry awards and 14 high commendations.
Among Reed's winners, B&T Weekly picked up the award for best advertisement of the year in addition to five high commendations-including one for business magazine of the year.
IDG Communications won 12 awards and 10 high commendations, including the two top awards-business magazine of the year and best specialist magazine of the year for magazines CIO and PC World respectively. The Industry Standard also took out several awards.
POL Corporate Publications received a total of six awards and two high commendations while Best Small Publisher of the Year went to Money in Practice (published by Money in Practice) and The Intermedia Group's Australian Giftguide Magazine was awarded best annual publication.
B&T Weekly editor Lara Sinclair was highly commended for best opinion segment series of the year as was journalist Maria Ligerakis for best case studies series of the year.
B&T was also highly commended for best editorial issues campaign of the year (about the Cannes scam ad scandal) and the B&T Yearbook was commended for best directory of the year.
